The ۵th Annual Meeting "the Union of Commercial and Non-commercial Risks Insurers and Reinsurers in the Member Countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab Investment & Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (Dhaman)", called as "AMAN UNION", is hosted by the "Export Guarantee Fund of Iran" (EGFI) on ۱۱-۱۲ November, ۲۰۱۴ in Tehran. The meeting, co-arranged by EGFI and AMAN UNION's Secretariat General in Kuwait, will be launched officially today with the speech of H.E. Mr. Nematzadeh, I.R. of Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade. More than ۷۰ experts from credit insurance industry from ۲۷ countries have gathered in this meeting to draft the UNION's business plan for the year ۲۰۱۵ and to share the last year's experience. Before the official opening of the meeting, Hon. Mr. Fahad Al Ibrahim, the Secretary General of AMAN UNION, and Mr. Taher Shah Hamed, the Chairman and CEO of EGFI, will address the meeting by welcoming the participants.
Moreover, in the opening session, Mr. Castellano, the CEO of SACE (Italy's ECA), as a keynote speaker will speak about "the Export Credit Agencies & Development Finance, Iran context." In addition, Dr. Khazaie, the President of "the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran" (OIETAI), as a government keynote will address the meeting on the "Investment Opportunities in Iran and the role of OIETAI in Interaction with ECAs." In continuation, technical discussions will be held during the two days. "Country Focus on the MENA Region" to be presented by Mr. Ludovic Surban, Chief Economist and Director for Economic Research of Euler Herms. Moreover, Mr. Kai Preugschat, the Secretary General of the Berne Union (International Union of Credit and Investment Insurers) will deliver a speech on "the Impact of Basel III Implementation on the Credit Insurance Industry". Mr. Ahmed Madkour from "Recovery Advisers" and Mr. Jef Vincent, the Chief Underwriting Officer of the "African Trade Insurance Agency" (ATI) in Kenya, will elaborate on "Claims Management and Recovery Strategies: Comparison between Various Recovery Options and Strategies" and "Insuring Risks in Sub-Saharan Africa" respectively. The last session is devoted to the "Challenges and Benefits of Credit Scoring in Emerging Markets" to be presented by Dr. Selim Seval from Turkish credit information company (CRIF, formerly known as FINAR). Following the presentations, each topic will be reviewed by panelists and attendees in open discussions.
The AMAN Union General Assembly will be held on the second day with the participation of all members. One of the items on the Assembly's Agenda is the adoption of new members, KazExportGarant and SMAEX from Kazakhstan and Morocco respectively.
