The AMAN UNION was launched with the initiative of ICEIC (the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit Insurance), an affiliate of the "Islamic Development Bank" based in Jeddah, and Dhaman (the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation) based in Kuwait and some Islamic ECAs, including "Export Guarantee Fund of Iran" (EGFI). Thus, during the ۱st Joint Meeting of Arab and Islamic ECAs held in Beirut, Lebanon on ۲۷-۲۸ October, ۲۰۰۹, the formation of the AMAN Union was announced. The Union is the first organization gathering investment and export credit agencies in the Muslim World under one umbrella and it aims at enhancing cooperation among Arab and Islamic export credit institutions and encouraging the development of investment and export credit insurance industry in its Member Countries. The Union alaso offers technical assistance to establish new agencies while enhancing the insurance capacity of existing agencies. Including ICIEC and Dhaman, the Union currently has ۱۸ full members from more than ۱۶ countries, and ۱۳ Associate and Observer Members from ۱۰ countries. In Tehran Annual Meeting, ۲ new ECAs will be adopted, subject to the approval of General Assembly, resulting in reaching the Full Members to ۲۰.
AMAN Union aims at promoting and developing the commercial and non-commercial risks insurance industry in Member Countries and strengthening the mutual relationships among members through a range of activities:
-Development of established National Export Credit Agencies and creation of new ones in Member Countries.
-Encouragement of exchange of information, technical assistance, expertise and consultation among Members.
-Development of credit information agencies as well as development of debt-collection agencies, training centers and other institutions that contribute to the progress of export credit insurance industry in Member Countries.
-Carrying out studies and research, issuance of bulletins and publications, organization of forums and conferences relevant to the union purposes.
AMAN Union acts to raise the technical performance, knowledge and capacities of its members to the utmost advanced levels of commercial and non-commercial insurance practices in the world that in return will contribute to the development of the economies of Member Countries. AMAN Union is committed to perform commercial and non-commercial risk insurance activities in total respect of human values and business ethics.
AMAN Union structure consists of the three following organs:
The General Assembly consists of the representatives of all the Union Members.
The Executive Council is the executive and policy making body of the Union. Its membership consists of seven Full Members.
The General Secretariat is the permanent administrative body of the Union.
